I arrived at Boringsville (OK, people, I'm running out of fake names now, so cut me some slack) at three in the morning. My brother, the real Ethan, drove me home, and I found, once we arrived at our home, that my bedroom had been attacked by my mother, cleaned, violated, and utterly destroyed. No longer were their hint about the character of the owner of this room, and it looked more like a hotel room, way too clean and empty.

I marched into my parents room and threw open the door, flicked on the lights, and demanded, "Where have you put my books?"

It took a while for my sleep deprived mind to accept that I no longer had books, that my signed copies, my first editions, and my Tolkien books were gone for good. I then slept fitfully in my room--but I guess that I can't even call it that anymore--and woke at seven when the sounds of my siblings readying themselves for school roused me from my slumber.

"Nathalie!" someone called up the stairs when I was washing my face. "Xoi is on the phone."

Xoi, formerly known as Zoey, is one of my good friends, but still didn't know that I was going to an all-boys' school. Xoi was a nickname created so long ago no one was really sure where it came from, and only teachers called her by her real name. I grabbed the nearest phone and said, "Hi" into the receiver.

Our conversation was brief, but Xoi told me that her mother was going to let her skip school today so we could hang out. Her mom was really cool about things like that. We made plans to meet at the mall and spent several hours window shopping, trying on clothes, and eating food.

"So how's this new school of yours going?" Xoi asked.

"Fine." I replied. I wanted to tell her about being blackmailed into the Four Lords, about my really hot roommate, and even the three Zachs and Hans and Frans. "I have a lot of guy friends there."

"Really? Are they hot? Do you like any of them?"

"Only as friends. I leaned back in my chair. "Some of them have pretty foul personalities."

There was a commotion at the other end of the food court, and I looked over to see four boys in sunglasses, looking just a little too much like Greek gods, or a goddess, in Alex's case. "Oh no." I looked around for a place to hide, but the devil wearing the face of Adam Carter caught sight of me.

"Oh E-than." He called in a sing-song sort of voice. "We've come to take you away." He walked up to our table and put his hands on the top bar of my chair, way too close for comfort.

"What are you doing here?" I hissed.

"It was, like, so boring without you." Alex said. "Adam was way bitchy and Butterfly wasn't speaking."

I looked at Butterfly's stoic face. "Does he ever talk?"

Butterfly ignored me.

"Butterfly?" Xoi asked. "Is he gay?"

"Only sometimes." Damien walked over to stand next to Xoi. "You must be one of little Ethan's friends."

"Little Ethan?" Xoi looked at me for answers.

"Yeah, that's right." I gave Damien my best evil eye. "These are some of the people I met at school. They were just going now."

Adam stole a chair from another table, spun it around, and sat in it backwards, resting his arms on the backrest. He pushed his sunglasses up onto his head. "You're so funny, little Ethan. We've decided to stay with you."

And with those words, my relaxing vacation became my own personal hell.
